Abbas told Weekly Trust that the man, whom he never met before, got the surging crowd to mob him. Abbas who was severely beaten to coma, woke up to find himself inside a police station.

He said he is yet to come to terms with what happended to him. Initially, he said he thought the strange man was only teasing him, which was why he asked him if that was how people’s manhood are being stolen. Before the police, however, the strange fellow said Abbas had returned his manhood to him.

But Abbas told Weekly Trust that while he was at the police station, he was neither forced to admit guilt nor was he maltreated because, according to him, the police have realised the truth of the matter. The police urged the two parties to settle the matter between themselves.

Malam Abdullahi Bayero, one of those who have known Abbas for long, said there was no way the man would commit what he was accused of committing. He said he never knew Abbas to be a person of questionable character, but a peace-loving individual who interacts with people in a friendly manner.

Bayero also commended the police for the professional manner with which they handled the issue. He said after they were given some documents to fill by the police after which he was released on bail. He said he was impressed because people always complained of police maltreatment while in detention.
