The convict was charged with human trafficking after attempting to facilitate the illegal entry of a minor from Abakpa, Enugu state, to Libya.

Delivering judgment, Justice Jane Inyang, summarily sentenced Tagoe after he pleaded guilty to trafficking.

Inyang did not give the convict an option of a fine.

Earlier, Mr Abdullahi Babale, the prosecution counsel and counsel to the National Agency for the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), told the court that the convict was arrested while attempting to procure the illegal entry of the 14-year-old girl to Libya.
