Mrs Helen Egbe, managing director of Cakasa Ebenezer Foundation, says if well empowered, girls are capable of making a difference in society.

Speaking on Monday in Lagos at the 2024 Ornaments of Grace and Virtues Initiative (OGAV) girls camp, Egbe urged the girls to take what they are being taught seriously.

“Girls, you can make a difference in society. Do not take the camp for a play, rather take note of everything they are taught,” she said while addressing the girls.

Mrs Kolade Busayo, president and founder of OGAV, harped on the importance of Girl-Child education in nation building and achieving the much desired national cohesion.

One of the scholarship beneficiaries of 2019 OGAV camp, Bakare Adeola Zainab, told the girls that they are the architects of their destiny.

Zainab, who is the Vice-President of Philosophy Department of the Lagos State University, encouraged them to take charge wherever they find themselves and make a difference as a girl child.

In her speech with the Slogan: ‘I Am A Girl Child, I’m Not A Mistake’, she shared personal experiences with the audience while motivating them to always stand out.
