The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has partnered with Wetherheads Advertising Group Limited in a move to bolster Nigeria’s position as a leading hub for technology and innovation in Africa.

The partnership was formalised during a courtesy visit by Wetherheads Advertising Group to the NITDA headquarters in Abuja, where they met with Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, Director General and CEO of NITDA, and his team.

The meeting marked the official unveiling of Wetherheads as the marketing and communications partner for GITEX Nigeria 2025, one of the world’s leading technology exhibitions, set to take place in Nigeria.

As part of its role, Wetherheads will provide strategic marketing and communication services, sponsorship and fundraising support, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) assistance, as well as post-event services.

The event will be hosted in two major cities, Abuja and Lagos in September 2025, marking a milestone for Nigeria’s technology ecosystem. The initiative is a collaboration between NITDA and KAOUN International, the global organiser of GITEX.

The partnership was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by NITDA DG and Trixie LohMirmand, CEO of KAOUN International.

GITEX Nigeria 2025 aims to showcase the country’s rapidly expanding technology sectors, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital health, and fintech.

The event is projected to attract over 20,000 visitors, featuring more than 100 exhibitors and 1,000 startups, fostering innovation, investment, and knowledge exchange.

Key highlights of the event will include a forum where policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators will discuss AI adoption and public sector innovation.

Also, the exhibition will provide a platform for global tech leaders to engage in discussions on the future of technology in Nigeria.
