Unhindered access to soft agricultural loans would go a long way to address many problems confronting small scale farmers in the rural communities.
The councillorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Party (APC) in Kabusa Ward of the Abuja Municipal Area Council in the FCT, Rahmat Abiola Abdullahi, made this known while unveiling the agricultural programmes she is planning for residents of Kabusa, who are mostly farmers.
Rahmat, the only female contestant from APC in the forthcoming council polls in the territory, said if elected, attention would be given to rural agriculture, especially those involving women by calling attention of the council authority in that regard.
She regretted that the PDP-led government in the past 16 years neglected the agric sector, alleging that all farm inputs, including fertilisers meant for people of her domain were hijacked for selfish reason.
Rahmat also assured women and youths in Kabusa ward of robust skill acquisition programme to alleviate their suffering and urged them to support her aspiration.
