The National Hijrah Organisation of Nigeria on Wednesday called on President Bola Tinubu to come up with robust economic policies capable of reducing the suffering of Nigerians.
The body equally charged leaders at all tiers of government to prioritise the welfare of the suffering masses through implementation of people-centric policies and programmes.
The group made the call in a statement signed by its national chairman, Prof. Badmas Yusuf and secretary, Alh. Abubakar Ayinla on Wednesday.
It urged the president to find solutions to the economic hardship facing Nigerians as the nation marked her 64th independence anniversary.
- 13,993 senior federal workers take promotion, confirmation exams
- Jigawa govt’ approves N11bn for purchase of Khadija University
The organisation advised Tinubu to “Let his 64th independent anniversary gift be a relief from the economic hardship staring Nigerians in the face”.
At the home front, Hijrah called on the newly inaugurated local government chairmen and councillors in Kwara to rule with fear of God and bring government very close to the people.
It reminded the new council helmsmen that local government administration played a major role in community development.
