The Glo Laffta Fest train is heading to Lagos tomorrow where fans will be thrilled in Victoria Island, following an eventful performance in Benin City last weekend.
Stand-up comedians, Gordons, I go Save, Sim Card and Osama entertained guests in the Edo State capital, Benin City.
Other a-list acts at the show anchored by Bovi, were M.I. and Burna Boy who thrilled fans at the Best Western Hotel, GRA Benin City, last Sunday.
According to a release, Glo’s National Sales Coordinator, Mid-west, Augustus Offor, who welcomed guests to the event, said: “Globacom is delighted to have the first in the series of the show in Benin City. Indeed, Benin plays an important role in the history of Nigeria, that is why we are bringing the Glo Laffta Fest, Slide ‘n’ Bounce musical concert and ‘Dance with Peter’ reality TV show to you here in Benin City.”
Stanley Agbokume, a student of the Benson Idahosa University, who attended the show, was quoted in the release as saying: “I was one of the first set of guests who arrived the venue. I’ve been looking forward to attending this show and I must tell you, I really had fun. The jokes were quite entertaining and I just wished it will never end.”
Other comedians, who fed the crowd with endless jokes received with hearty laughter, were Youngest Landlord, D Don, MC Casino, and Funny Bones. In addition, budding performers such as Warri Boy, R&A, Solution, Vizula, Zeek and Elvis Joe also performed. Ace comedian, Bovi, anchored the show.
Bovi reportedly engaged the audience with interactive and rib-cracking jokes while coordinating the event. However, the excitement rose to a crescendo when African Rapper Number One, M.I. came on stage; the auditorium expectedly went wild with excitement as he performed his hit songs including ‘One Naira.’
Select members of the audience participated in jokes competition and were rewarded with mouth-watering gifts.
The fest which was launched in 2011 is expected to hold in other parts of Lagos and cities across the country, including Abeokuta and Ijebu ode later in the year.
