Though he didn’t survive long enough to win in the show, Shedrach from Lagos State did made the most of his opportunity on the show as his motto suggest – “make the best of every situation. I have learnt a lot that would make me a better person” he said.

“I performed well on the show. My performance and the voting outcome are two different things. I am grateful for the opportunity to showcase my talent. I have made the best of the situation” he told Sunday Trust in a chart.

Shedrach, a student, says beyond music, he is also considering a career in fashion designing. He tipped Ekeng, Da Brothers or Boma to win the show.

On why he cried when his eviction was announced, he explained that he would miss the friends he has made on the show.

Unlike last week, when Moses’s eviction was greeted with consternation, Shedrach’s isn’t too much of a surprise because he had suffered low rating from the in-house judges for two weeks consecutively.

Da Brodas who have consistently showed incredible singing capability thus far chose to perform KC and Jojo’s All My Life since it was done by a duo and was one of their favourite songs. Da Brodas obviously had a joker in this song as it is arguably their best performance yet decidedly raising the tempo of the competition and earning themselves a thunderous standing ovation from the audience. It is indeed amazing with these young acts.

Boma, standing up for love said she chose the song because it spoke to her and she hoped it would do the same for everyone watching the show. Though a generally unfamiliar song by Destiny’s Child, Boma, indeed passed across a strong message on love. A new Boma was born; her performance this week marked a strong comeback from her mediocre run the previous week.

Displaying keen vocal dexterity was Casey who took on Shai’s If I Ever Fall in Love. If his desire was to show how creative he is as a singer, then he did not disappoint as he rendered a unique version of the 1990’s hit song. His fans agreed, branding his performance dynamic.

Next up was Peace who came on stage, challenged to deliver a better performance than the previous week where the celebrity judge, Nikki Laoye, said she failed to “bring it”. Singing On Bended Knees by Boys II Men, Peace clearly put up a much better performance than she did the previous week, though still questionable considering that the show had gone highly competitive.

Najite chose to perform En Vogue’s hit song Don’t Let Go since it is full of energy and defined her personality. She did not exaggerate on the energy as the vivacious performer more than justified the claim about her personae as she could be mistaken for an original member of the group.

If you say the best wine was served last, you wouldn’t be wrong. One of the show’s favourites, Ekeng performed LightHouse Family’s We Are One. His attempt at ingenuity landed a little flat to the ears leaving LightHouse Family fans more than a little disappointed. However, since it was his birthday, members of the audience were willing to forgive one bad outing as they merrily wished him a happy birthday.

With all the contestants having given their best shot at making it through to next week,   it was time to seek guidance from the celebrity judge, Amaka, former member of Girl Power Unleashed and resident judge, Tosin Martins on their take on the performances of the top seven.

While Amaka thought they all rocked, she applauded Boma for actually passing across her message and Casey for his awesome delivery of a song that many thought could not be improved on. She picked Peace as her lowlight, but only to counsel her to work on her diction.

Tosin Martins excitedly exclaimed that though he had refrained from commending Da Brodas in past weeks, they had consistently proven to be a great asset to the show. He applauded their accurate and harmonious melody as well as their expert use and control of the stage and simple choreography.
