Glo Premier league: Battle for title resumes today

The big and interesting clashes are expected to hold in Benin City, Jos, Port Harcourt and Umuahia.
It will battle royal inside the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium Benin as Bayelsa United  take on Crown FC
Both teams are on 24 points apiece. Bayelsa United occupy the 16th position on the league table while Crown FC are just one spot below. Their first meeting this season produced four goals in Ibadan with Bayelsa’s Peter Ebimobowei scoring twice to become joint top scorer with Osaguona Ighodaro on 10 goals each.
Giwa FC  will slug it out in Jos with Enyimba International of Aba
This is one of the most anticipated games of the second round after Giwa FC surprised Enyimba in the first meeting in Aba where they got a point after a 0-0 draw.
Both teams are in the top six of the table with Enyimba in 5th position.
It will be a South South war in Uyo as Akwa United takes on  Sharks FC of Port Harcourt
After impressive starts to the season that saw the two teams leading the league table at different times, things have changed and both teams have suffered slides.
The surprise team of the season so far, Abia Warriors, will host Nasarawa United in a top-of-the-table clash. Nasarawa are in second place while Abia Warriors are placed 3rd. In the first meeting this season, Nasarawa had to come from a goal down in Lafia to win 3-1.
This match is expected to throw up individual battles and end-to-end display judging by the performance of the two teams in the league this season.
Rangers will be seeking for revenge against El Kanemi that won the first round clash 2-1 in Kano. Abdullahi Suleiman had to score twice to cancel out Osaguona Ighodaro’s early goal for Rangers. Rangers have found themselves in unfamiliar position outside the top half of the table. They are just above the relegation with a superior goal difference.
But the Flying Antelopes have not dropped points in Enugu against El-Kanemi in their last four matches.
Dolphins will confront league leaders Kano Pillars in the big clash billed to hold in Port Harcourt. In the first meeting between both teams this season, Kano Pillars proved a handful for Dolphins as they won 3-1 in Kano.
Defending champions, Kano Pillars, have shown that their back-to-back successes in the last two seasons are no fluke as they have gone 11 matches unbeaten this season.
In Katsina Ala Lobi Stars will lock horns with Heartland FC of Owerri, just as it is a North eastern affair in Jalingo as FC Taraba host Gombe United .Sunshine Stars will trade tackles with bottom of the log side  Nembe City in Akure while Warri Wolves will host the team from the crocodile city,Kaduna United in Warri.
