He noted that the attitude of the sports officials has denied the country the opportunity of harvesting lots of talents that were on display.

Isah, who stated this at the closing ceremony of the event at the main bowl of Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu, stated that “This was very successful exercise because so many records were set by the student athletes. In the 100 meters event, a new record was set just as was the case in 3000 meters. Unfortunately, despite our invitation letter to the ministry of sports, none of their official was here. They would have gotten good boys and girls that they can nurture both in athletics and football.”

“In the final game of the football event, I am sure that Eze Michael and Barnabas Buter of 82 Division and Yakubu Dominic of 81 Division will make the team of any national U-17 coach. Those boys were simply fantastic. These are the boys that would have been groomed had their talent been spotted by any sports ministry official in attendance but, they were nowhere to be found. It is not good for sports development in the country where we preach; catch them young,” he stated.
