Freedom Day Divine Service was held in commemoration of the auspicious birth of the Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ was born over 2000 years ago.

The preacher, Kingsley Ufouma said Jesus would have been born no later than mid-October when the weather is pleasant in Bethlehem.

Officiant, Brother Godwin Ifeacho who is Chairman, Executive Board of God’s Kingdom Society said, “We are meticulous about doctrines.  We call it Freedom Day because the time that Jesus Christ came, it is for the freedom of mankind from sin and death. That is why we call it freedom day. He came to free us from sin and death.

“We celebrate every year in October just to remember the birth of Jesus Christ in the month of October for the freedom of mankind.

“Believing in Jesus Christ and celebrating Freedom Day in October is not a requisite to enter heaven. Heaven is not for every Christian, it’s for a special class, the anointed servants of God and they have a specific number: 144,000 chosen and anointed men of God. The rest will be here on earth both male and female alike.”

Ifeacho whose teachings sounded controversial said, “it is the truth that leads to salvation. When you preach lies, it leads people to destruction and we don’t want people to be destroyed. Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy that we should maintain the doctrine and that is the doctrine of God which will make people to be saved by the Grace of God—First Timothy chapter 4 verses  15 and 16.

“So for people to say Jesus Christ was born on 25th December…it is not true. This is why we have come out to let the people know the fact.

“Jesus Christ came to die for you and me. That is the message from God Almighty. His death means a lot to us. Without his birth, he could not have died so we talk of his birth then we talk of death. Christ came and preached the truth which will lead us to salvation by grace and truth among which are those of us serving God in truth will remain here on earth by the Grace of God, according to Psalm 37:9,11,22 and 29. It says that the righteous will be here on earth.

“Though a few people will go to heaven—that is the truth of the scriptures. And those who will go to heaven are the immediate disciples of Jesus Christ known as the Apostles. Then the remaining of Christ’s disciples who are not of the class of the apostles will be here on earth. This is a fact that Jesus taught us as one of the doctrines that will lead to salvation.”

On miracles, he said, “Miracles cannot be done now. Those whom they [healers] claim to heal of their blindness is purported because at the time Jesus did his miracle of restoring the sight of the blind, people knew them. John chapter 9—it is there! A man born blind from the mother’s womb, Christ saw him and healed him then the Jews persecuted Jesus Christ for so doing.”
