Gombe State is gearing up for the much-anticipated 2025 Inter-Secondary School Athletics Competition, with 73 schools from 11 Local Government Areas (LGAs) set to compete for top honours. The event will take place from January 19–25, 2025, at the prestigious Pantami Township Stadium in Gombe Metropolis.
Over 2,000 athletes will participate in 26 thrilling events, including sprints, middle-distance races, relays, and field events such as the shot put, long jump, and javelin. The competition promises to be a platform for discovering emerging athletic talent while promoting sportsmanship.
The event organizers have prioritized the comfort and well-being of participants and spectators, ensuring a fully equipped and secure Games Village, complete with accommodation, healthcare, food, and entertainment.
The competition will culminate on January 25 with a grand closing ceremony, where medals and awards will be presented to outstanding athletes and schools.

Leading up to the event, the Gombe State Amateur Athletics Association (GSAAA), under the leadership of Hon Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe, has announced the key officials for the competition. Dr. Alex Sule Mana has been appointed as the Competition Manager, with Abbas Mohammed serving as Chief Track Judge.
Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe, a former board member of the Nigeria Football Federation, will serve as the Director General. Other key appointments include Prince Simon Ayuba as Technical Manager, Gama Yakubu as Chief Field Judge, and Solomon Achi as Chief Time Keeper. Kolo Mohammed will serve as Chief Umpire, while Haruna Isa Kalshingi will be the scribe.
