He became a confidant of Yahaya after he fell out with Goje.
The national leadership of the APC had in January attempted to reconcile Goje and Yahaya.
Governor Mai Mala Buni, Chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee, held a truce meeting with the duo at the Abuja residence of Senator Abdullahi Adamu, but the rift seems to be far from over.
Speaking on Sunday in Kumo Town of Akko local government area of the state, Mu’azu said he is in the race “to bring positive development” and continue from where former representatives of the senatorial district stopped.
At the event held at the Kumo residence of Usman Bello Kumo, member representing Akko Federal Constituency and a staunch rival of Goje, Muazu told thousands of his supporters that he got the blessings of Governor Yahaya before he joined the race.
He called on Goje and Senator Abdullahi Idris Umar, to give way for the younger generation to also contribute their quota.
