The All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Gombe state Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, has conceded defeat in the governorship election conducted on Saturday.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwabo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the contest.
Dankwambo was declared winner with 285, 369 votes while the APC candidate scored a total votes of 205, 132.
“The election has been won and lost, won because I have the belief that people exercise their rights and voted. Whatever happened at least there was a result which came through INEC.
“So we have to accept it and we wish the person that was announced winner success and well in whatever endeavour he finds himself,” Alhaji Yahya said.
