The Gombe State government has earmarked N19.6 billion for education in the 2016 budget.
Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo stated this while presenting the 2016 budget before the State House of Assembly. He said that in order to reverse the rot he inherited in the education sector, he had declared a state of emergency there. Dankwambo said his government renovated schools and constructed new ones with 18,999 classrooms, hostels, staff quarters and 53 laboratories in the past.
