The federal government is working towards establishing a tuberculosis resistant treatment center in Gombe.
Speaking when officials of the Federal Ministry of Health visited Gombe recently, a Deputy Director from the ministry, Dr Emmanuel James said they were in the state to collaborate on curtailing the cases of resistant TB.
He called on the state government to support the center when it is established saying there is need to have adequate staff that will ensure the sustenance of the center.
Receiving the officials, Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Health, Alhaji Abubakar Usman Sambo said the ministry has already allocated facilities in Zambuk where the centre will be located and some of the required equipment have been installed.
Represented by the Director of Administration and Finance, Alhaji Hassan Rashid, he assured the officials that the state government will support the establishment of the center.
