The Gombe State Government, through the Joint Projects Development Agency (GSJPDA), is converting the Gombe Jewel Suites into offices for 14 emirs and chiefs.

Director-General of the Agency, Mahmoud Yusuf, told journalists in Gombe that the project is 70 percent complete.

He explained that the initiative will provide traditional rulers with a modern and conducive workspace whenever they are in the state capital.

Yusuf also disclosed that the agency has built 260 market stalls in Kaltungo Local Government Area, 66 new shops with landscaping in Funakaye LGA, reconstructed two village heads’ palaces, and renovated the Emir’s palace in Nafada.

He said the GSJPDA, established in 2020, has achieved over 80 percent of its mandate so far and urged future administrations to sustain its legacy.

“All our projects are based on requests from local governments, and we ensure they meet community needs,” he said.

The DG further said Akko Local Government has recorded significant benefits, including the installation of new streetlights and the reconstruction of the old secretariat.
