Gombe releases N775m for pensioners’ gratuity

The Gombe State Government says it has released N775 million for the payment of outstanding gratuity to retirees in the state.

Director-General Press Affairs Ismaila Uba Misilli disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Sunday.

Misilli said the payment of another tranche of outstanding gratuity to the retired civil servants will commence today (Monday) at the Treasury House.

Daily Trust reports that hundreds of pensioners staged a peaceful protest last month to demand the payment of their outstanding gratuities years after retirement.
