The Senior Special Adviser on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, Alhaji Audi Adamu, stated this to Daily Trust in an interview in Gombe.
According to him, construction work on the farm centres has reached 80 percent stage and when completed they would be equipped with modern facilities for training those interested in farming in the state. He said the centres will be inaugurated before the end of July.
He said the construction of the centres was conceived following the introduction of the federal government’s Agricultural Transformation Agenda, adding, “as you are aware, Gombe State is an agrarian state, hence the need for this project. We want to revitalize farm practices by providing opportunities for farmers in different areas.”
He said the state government will employ the services of qualified agric extension workers who will train those that will be enrolled in the centre.
