The father of the Gomo of Kuje, Alhaji Shuaibu Shamiki has died.

The secretary of Gomo of Kuje, Abubakar Bako, who confirmed the death to our reporter via telephone yesterday, said he died at about 4:00a.m. yesterday at Kuje General Hospital after a brief illness.

He said the deceased, who died at the age of 95 has been buried according to Islamic rites at the Pasali Muslim cemetery in the area.

He said the deceased, was married to one wife and survived by three children, among whom are the Gomo of Kuje, Alhaji Jibrin Tanko, Hajiya Lami Shamiki, wife of the chief of Jiwa and Asabe Shamiki.

Several traditional rulers attended the funeral prayers of the deceased including the Ona of Abaji, Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, Etsu of Kwali, Alhaji Shaban Audu Nizazo, Aguma of Gwagwalada, Alhaji Muhammad Magaji, Agora of Zuba, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Umar, Chief of Jiwa, Alhaji Idris Musa, Chief of Rubochi, Alhaji Ibrahim M. Pada, Chief of Pai, Alhaji Ibrahim Bala and Chief of Gwargwada, Alhaji Hussaini Agabi Mam.
