Google Maps has got a new icon with a redesigned app layout as it celebrates 15years of pushing boundaries and helping people navigate and discover the world around them.
The Senior Vice President, Google Maps, Jen Fitzpatrick while briefing the media mentioned that augmented reality is launching in Live View in addition to a number of transit improvements.
The new Google maps icon, she said, is based on the pin, a key design element from Google Maps since the beginning, which represents a shift from step-by-step directions, to helping users discover and explore new experiences and places.
“From February 6, 2020, you will see an updated Google Maps app for Android and iOS that gives you everything you need at your fingertips with five easy-to-access tabs including Explore, Commute, Saved, Contribute and Updates,” she said.
