As members of the House of Representatives passed the bill sponsored and introduced on the floor by Hon. Aminu Sulaiman Goro for an act to establish a Federal Polytechnic in Fagge Federal Constituency of Kano State, it indicates that Goro’s representation is all about hard work, determination, sacrifice, and selfless services.   

In its 30th September plenary session, with the close monitoring of the Chairman of the House Committee on Tertiary Education and Services (Comr. Aminu Sulaiman Goro), the bill for the establishment of Fagge Federal Polytechnic received the third reading from members of the House of Representatives. Sooner or later, we expect its immediate passage to the President for assent. As a tertiary education stakeholder, it deeply gladdens me to hear that any moment from now, Fagge Federal Polytechnic will be underway. Although the bill has been transmitted to the Senate for immediate transmission to the president, I still urge Rep Goro and members of his Tertiary education committee to initiate processes that will accelerate the approval of this bill by President Muhammadu Buhari.  

If established as recommended, this action will no doubt bridge a wide gap between the Kano people and its neighbouring states in accessing scientific and technical education. The establishment of Fagge Federal Poly will greatly help in many ways to acquaint our youths with sound technical and vocational skills, thereby exposing them to adequate employable skills.
