Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has set up a probe panel on an alleged illegal massive sale of land in parts of the state.   

Daily Trust on Sunday reports that the allegation involving some top officials of the State Bureau of Land and Survey had sent shockwaves through government’s circles with many officials quizzed by the security agents.

Some of the lands affected included portions of the state government’s land along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway and land allocated for the Gateway Cargo Airport under construction which is worth billions of naira.

This was contained in a statement made available to our correspondent in Abeokuta, on Saturday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Kunle Somorin.

The statement quoted the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade SAN, to have said that the commission “is set up in line with the administration’s commitment to transparency in government processes, and drive to ease of doing business.”

According to the statement, the judicial commission will be chaired by Honourable Justice S. A. Olugbemi (Rtd) supported by Adetunji Onabowo Esq, and CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun (Rtd), the immediate past Commissioner of Police in Ogun State.

Other members are Odesanya Shakiru Tunde of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors and Toyin Aluko, an estate valuer.
