Gov. Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has dissolved the management of all local government councils in the state.
This is contained in a statement signed by Alhaji Aliyu Ahmed, the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, made available to newsmen on Friday in Lafia.
The statement explained that the action followed the expiration of the tenure of the councils on March 24.
It directed the affected council chairmen to handover their official vehicles at the Government House with immediate effect.
The statement also directed the chairmen to handover other government properties in their possession to the Directors of Personnel Management at their respective councils.
The State High Court had on Wednesday in Lafia dismissed the suit filed by the sacked council chairmen seeking elongation of their tenure from two to three years.
