Gov. Bello should probe past govts

Kogi state since its creation in 1991 had not seen much development in critical infrastructure, like its counterpart created the same year.
Kogi state has been made a reference point in negative aspect of development, due to the past administrations that are shouldered with responsibilities of moving the state forward.
Its clarion call on the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello to seized the bull by the horn, in probing the activities of the past administrations in the state, on how they spent the allocation from the federation account, internal generated revenue and other remittance meant for the state for its overall development, which was diverted to some pocket of individuals and other officials of the state government.
The people of Kogi state are witnessing, how carelessly money meant for the development of the state, are been used by some government officials to build mansions, expensive hotels and high standard petrol stations across the state and other part of the country.
The recourses of the state have been stolen to satisfy the whims and caprices of few individuals who don’t have the interest of the state at heart, hence collaborating to milk the state dry.
Governor Yahaya Bello should take a cue from President Muhammadu Buhari, whom he promised to emulate by bringing the much desired change in the entire sector of Kogi state socio-economic development.
It is pertinent for the state governor to ensure he implements one of the far reaching measures taken by the Buhari’s government: the single treasury account (TSA) which has gone much further to stop financial leakages at the federal level.
The probe panel must scrutinize all the account of all the Ministries,
Departments and Government Agencies to ensure all those who soil their hands with our commonwealth are made to return their carted loot and ploughed back into the development of the state.
The present government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello should send a strong signal that it’s not going to be business as usual in the governance of Kogi state.
