Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State has approved the appointment of Dr Hilkiah Bubajoda Mafindi as chairman of the state’s planning commission. The appointment of Mafindi was contained in a statement issued by the chief press secretary to the governor, Malam Hassan Mijinyawa.
The new chairman, said the statement, holds a doctorate degree in history from the University of Jos
He started his working career with the College of Education, Hong, in the defunct Gongola State in 1988 as a lecturer before transferring his service to the college of Education, Jalingo, in 1992. Mafindi also served as personal assistant and later special assistant to former governor of the state, Rev. Jolly Nyame, from 2000 to 2006. He was also appointed as chairman of the state’s Universal Basic Education Board for two consecutive terms from 2007 to 2016.
Mafindi also served as secretary state, committee on reform agenda, and secretary of the committee for the establishment of Taraba State University.
