Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, has directed principals of public secondary schools to henceforth stop charging school fees.
He gave the directive while speaking at the closing ceremony of a two-day retreat for top government functionaries which held at Kini Country Guest Inn in Akwanga.
Governor Sule stated categorically that principals and head teachers of public schools should henceforth stop charging school fees.
“I understand that some principals and headmasters, are charging school fees and are saying that it is the new governor that directed them to.
“And I keep saying that I’m not even aware of it. So I want to state categorically clear that if anybody is charging school fees, they should stop it now,” the governor directed.
He further warned principals to stop all new things they introduced which they have not agree on collectively or there was no directive from government.
