The grand opening of Best Western Plus at The Oxbow Lake Yenagoa marked a significant milestone in Bayelsa’s hospitality and tourism development. The event, which brought together top government officials, business leaders, and industry players, was graced by Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State, and Former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Set against the tranquil backdrop of Oxbow Lake, the launch highlighted the state’s growing potential as a destination for business and leisure. Guests experienced guided tours, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and a reception that showcased the hotel’s premium facilities and refined elegance.

Speaking at the event, Governor Diri commended the project as a testament to private sector confidence in Bayelsa’s economic growth.

He stated: “The Best Western Plus Yenagoa represents more than a hotel; it is a reflection of our state’s readiness for investment, tourism, and sustainable development. We are proud that this establishment has chosen Bayelsa to expand global hospitality standards and create jobs for our people.”

Former President Goodluck Jonathan praised the development for enhancing Yenagoa’s image as a progressive city.
