The Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has sacked twenty one out of twenty-seven members of the State executive Council.
The governor directed the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council (EXCO) with the exception of the following Commissioners:
Rt Hon Eziuche Ubani, Commissioner for Works; Chief John Okiyi Kalu, Commissioner for Information; Dr Aham Uko, Commissioner for Environment; Mr Obinna Oriaku, Commissioner for Finance; Dr John Ahukannah, Commissioner for Health and Chief Umeh Kalu, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice
According to the statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Enyinnaya Appolos, Ikpeazu expressed his sincere appreciation to the outgoing members of the executive council for their service to the state and directed that they hand over to the relevant Permanent Secretaries.
