Gov Lawal to deliver completed projects in 14 LGAs by February

The Zamfara State Government says it has completed several multi-billion naira projects across the 14 local government areas of the state, with many of them scheduled for delivery by February 2026 as part of the Rescue Mission Agenda of the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal.
The projects, which cut across education, health, urban renewal, security and infrastructure, are aimed at improving service delivery and taking development to the grassroots. A major component is the final phase of the renovation, furnishing and equipping of the JB Yakubu Secretariat Complex, which is expected to be delivered in February 2026 to provide improved working conditions for civil servants in the state.
The Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, who inspected Block C of the complex, said the project had reached 100 per cent completion, expressing satisfaction with the quality of work. He urged the contractor to address minor observations to ensure high standards and timely delivery. Blocks A and B of the complex, commissioned during Governor Lawal’s second anniversary, are already operational with solar power and Wi-Fi connectivity.
A statement by Suleman Ahmad Tudu, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, said the administration had prioritised the provision of modern office facilities, noting that a conducive work environment is essential for productivity and effective service delivery.

Also nearing completion is the remodelling of Saudauna Memorial Stadium in Gusau, which has attained about 90 per cent completion, while the state NUJ Secretariat complex is set for commissioning. The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Haruna Dikko, who led routine monitoring and quality assurance inspections, said the stadium upgrade includes a modern football pitch, spectator stands, VIP and VVIP lounges, changing rooms, medical centres, media facilities, floodlights, electronic scoreboards, CCTV surveillance, safety systems, access roads and parking spaces.
He added that, on completion, the stadium would meet national and international standards and serve as a venue for major sporting competitions and other large-scale events, while the NUJ secretariat is designed to provide a conducive working environment for journalists in the state.
The state NUJ chairman, Ibrahim Maizare, commended the governor for the construction of the new secretariat, describing it as a welcome development.
Other completed projects awaiting commissioning include well-equipped primary healthcare centres across the state, the Fannan Bridge linking Gusau with surrounding communities, as well as roads, hospitals, schools and other infrastructural developments.
