Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has transferred power to his deputy, Malam Faruq Lawal-Jobe, as he proceeds on a one-month medical leave.
Radda made this known while presiding over a joint meeting with local government chairmen, legislators, and his cabinet members at the Government House, Katsina.
He said, “I will be proceeding for my vacation and medical check-up from Thursday until August 18.
“I have transmitted power formally to the deputy governor to act in an acting capacity for this period to ensure continuity in state governance during my absence.”
He stated that he has transmitted a letter to that effect to the state assembly, and his leave was approved in accordance with constitutional provisions.
Radda urged all government officials and stakeholders to extend their full cooperation and support to the acting governor.
During the meeting, the governor also received the 2024 supplementary budget as passed by the state assembly.
