Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, has condemned the attack on the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah by gunmen.

The senator’s convoy was reportedly attacked on Sunday evening by gunmen and some of his personal aides and an unconfirmed number of persons were killed.

In the report, Ifeanyi Ubah narrowly escaped his assailants who attacked his convoy at the Enugwu-Ukwu road in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State

Condemning the attack, Soludo in a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Mr Christian Aburime, said the government was fully determined to wipe out every act of criminality in the State.

According to him, “this is the last ditched-effort of a sinking boat” by these criminal elements

He reassured that all security agencies in the state are now on full alert to fish out the perpetrators of this heinous attack. The governor further noted that the attackers of the senator would be made to face the full wrath of the law when apprehended.

The Governor also commiserated with the families of the senator’s aides who lost their lives as well as the State Commissioner of Police, for the policemen who also lost their lives.
