Syrian gov’t would accept Geneva peace talks outcome

Head of the Syrian Mission/ Charge d’Affaires in Nigeria, Dr. Shafik Daiyob said this yesterday in Abuja in an interview with Daily Trust.
He disclosed that his government is open to any suggestion that can restore peace into the country.
“Syria government is ready to take all measures to take the country out of the present problem and the government is ready to execute all agreements from the Second Geneva conference no matter what,” Daiyob said.
He added that government of Syria has already informed the United Nations, US, Russia and others that they are going to accept whatever the outcome of the conference is.
The envoy however noted that the concern of Syrian government over the failure of inclusive representation of all opposition group saying some of the faction groups are not represented in the delegation.
“Delegation of the opposition group to the conference does not include all factions in and outside Syria,” the head of mission said.
On Nigerians in Syria, the envoy said Nigeria embassy is still functional and doing well adding that the Syrian armed forces have been able to achieve a lot in fighting terrorist groups.
