The Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), said the federal government has not done enough to cushion the effects of COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
The Chairman of NIM, Abeokuta chapter, Emmanuel Adebayo, said this during this year’s annual Day lecture held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Adebayo advised the government to ensure that many Nigerians are trained to avoid people losing their jobs due to the effects of COVID-19 in the country.
He said the Abeokuta Chapter NIM organised the lecture to train its members. “We all need to learn, unlearn and relearn because most of the things we hold in the past are no longer relevant and as managers, we have to be relevant at all times.
“The Nigerian government has not done enough; they may be doing their best due to several circumstances but obviously their best is not enough…”
In his lecture titled, “Re-inventing the professional manager amidst a pandemic”, the speaker, Femi Williams, advised the members to build an environment of collaboration that facilitates contributions from subordinates and superiors.
