Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has officially sworn in Peace Samson Audu as the new Chairperson of Fufore Local Government Area, following the passing of the late Alhaji Shuaibu Babas.

The oath of office and allegiance was administered by the Chief Judge of Adamawa State, Hon. Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, during a solemn ceremony held at the Council Chamber of the Government House, Yola.

In his address, Governor Fintiri expressed strong confidence in the new Chairperson’s leadership qualities, describing her as a trusted and dedicated member of the PDP family.

“She has shown consistency, capability, and a deep commitment to service,” the Governor noted. “Even during the late Chairman’s illness, she stepped up and ensured seamless leadership in the local government.”

He emphasized that her appointment followed due constitutional process and reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to equity and inclusion.

“Our government belongs to everyone,” he said. “That’s why we are enjoying peace and progress in Adamawa. We treat all citizens with fairness and respect, regardless of religion or ethnicity.”

Governor Fintiri called on the people of Fufore to support the new Chairperson, describing her as a mother figure with a passion for service. He also announced the appointment of Sale Manu as Vice Chairman, following broad consultations with stakeholders.

Reflecting on six years of transformation in Adamawa, the Governor expressed optimism that the state’s development will continue beyond his tenure.

In her remarks, Chairperson Peace Samson Audu conveyed a blend of sorrow and gratitude. While mourning her predecessor, she expressed deep appreciation to the Governor for his trust and mentorship.

“This is a moment of mixed emotions,” she said. “I mourn the loss of a visionary leader who had great plans for our people. At the same time, I am honored by this opportunity and promise to lead with transparency, inclusivity, and purpose.”

She pledged full loyalty to the administration and encouraged the public to offer constructive feedback, which she described as vital for effective governance.
