Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, who formally defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) last week, paid a familiarisation visit to the party’s National Chairman, Professor Nantawi Yelwata, at the APC national headquarters in Abuja.
Governor Fintiri was accompanied by a delegation of lawmakers and political associates from Adamawa State. The visit was aimed at strengthening ties with the party leadership and reaffirming his commitment to working within the APC framework to advance development in his state.
Speaking during the meeting, Governor Fintiri expressed gratitude to the APC leadership for welcoming him into the party, noting that his decision to join the APC was driven by the need to align Adamawa State with the ruling party at the national level. He emphasised that unity and collaboration are crucial for delivering good governance and ensuring progress for the people.
In his response, the APC National Chairman, Professor Nantawi Yelwata, congratulated Governor Fintiri on his defection and assured him of the party’s full support. He described the governor’s move as a significant boost to the APC’s strength in Adamawa State and across the North-East region.
