Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State has directed the state university in Jalingo to suspend all staff employed by the institution from May 29, 2015 to date.
The governor’s directive was contained in a letter with Reference No MOE/S/34/169 dated March 22, 2016 which was signed for the Commissioner of Education.
The letter, which was addressed to the registrar of the university, further directed the institution to ensure immediate compliance.
The letter said, a well-known Islamic cleric, Dr. Ibrahim Jalo, who is also a senior lecturer in the university, was said to be among those suspended.
