Your Excellency, I write this piece to draw your attention to the dilapidated situation of Galtimari by-pass. The road indeed needs urgent intervention as it eases movement and decongests traffic in the axis.
The 3.2km road links Gombole village, Fori, Tashan-Bama among other areas. It has been the easiest route for students, traders, motorists as well as tricyclists within the Maiduguri metropolis.

The Galtimari by-pass was constructed around 2019, under Kashim Shettima’s watch, and was commissioned by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Sadly, in less than three years the road has been completely spoiled probably because of a poor job done by the contractor.
Frankly, you (Babagana Zulum) being the Borno State governor is a blessing considering the huge developmental projects recorded in the state within your three years in power.
It’s on this note that I urge the governor to continue doing the good work to his people by extending same gesture to Galtimari by-pass as most of the people plying the road consider it as shortcut to other parts of the metropolis.
Doing so would help in decongesting the city as well as easing the burden of the commuters.
Finally, I urge his excellency to investigate the persistent issues surrounding the project, by setting up a fact-finding committee to visit the area to see what is exactly going on.
