The Wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed Abubakar, has assisted about 1, 000 malnutrition children in the state through her Non-Governmental Organization, (NGO), Bauchi Sustainable Women Economic Empowerment and Peace Initiative, (BSWEEP).
She disclosed this while addressing journalists on her 2016 activities.
According to her, 600 pregnant women got assistance of babies’ kits and mosquito nets to encourage them register at health facilities for ante-natal.
She explained that the malnourished children were fed with special food produced by the Bauchi State Agricultural Development Programme, (BSADP), using soya beans, millet and groundnuts.
On her proposed 2017 programmes, she said that plan was under way to train 400 women who are internally displaced on various skills and trades.
