Govs. Fintiri, Kefas, TY Danjuma Meet Defence Minister Over Rising Attacks in Adamawa, Taraba

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, alongside Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State and elder statesman Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, on Friday paid a strategic visit to the Federal Ministry of Defence (Nigeria) in Abuja to discuss the resurgence of insurgent activities and violent attacks in parts of the North-East.

The delegation met with the Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, to deliberate on growing security concerns affecting communities in Adamawa and Taraba states, particularly areas that have recently experienced attacks linked to the insurgent group Boko Haram.

The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Defence Ministry in Abuja, focused on recent security breaches reported in several local government areas across the two states. The governors and the elder statesman expressed concern over the safety of lives and property, stressing the need for enhanced military presence and improved intelligence coordination to curb the rising threats.

Speaking during the engagement, Governor Fintiri emphasised the importance of stronger collaboration between the federal and state governments to tackle insecurity in the region. He noted that communities in border areas of Adamawa have recently faced renewed threats, making it imperative for security agencies to intensify operations and provide adequate protection for residents.
