Gov’ship: PDP optimistic of regaining power

The Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reaffirmed its commitment to take over from the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by Yahaya Bello and effect a change in the state.

The stakeholders of the party expressed this at Anyigba in Dekina Local Government Area of the state during the unveiling of the governorship candidate of the party, Senator Dino Melaye, and his running mate, Habiba Muhammed Deen, to the people of the senatorial district.

A former governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, who handled the proceedings, stated that the people should not be afraid, but to come out enmasse to cast their votes for the party, noting that they will give them the necessary security they need during the period of election.

He added that the party has been restructured and has developed its winning streaks that will make it coast home to victory, saying Senator Dino Melaye will form the next government of the state.

“Fear not, for we will provide you adequate security that will enable you to cast your vote without fears of molestation by any power.

“We are back fully. The PDP will give you the security you need for the voting assignment,” he said.

In his remarks, Senator Melaye said the ruling party’s policy has affected the fabric of the state negatively in various sectors, assuring that if voted into power, he will review all the caustic decisions in place for the people to have fresh breath and a sense of belonging.
