Ekiti State Police Command has promised to ensure peace during the governorship primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) fixed for Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, in the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Tunde Mobayo, said the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, has approved the deployment of more policemen, to complement the personnel on the ground.

Mobayo, according to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Sunday Abutu, warned against all forms of electoral malpractices and violence throughout the period of the elections.
He charged policemen deployed for the election to be professional and avoid all forms of corrupt practices while discharging their duties.
The CP called on all stakeholders and political parties to maintain peace and conduct themselves in accordance with the electoral guideline and principles.
