The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Babatunde Ipaye who made this disclosure during a monitoring exercise, said such operators lacked the required expertise, and that the ban had become necessary to guide against quackery in the state health sector.
ýIpaye said eight private health facilities were shut in Abeokuta South and Odeda local government area in addition to the 58 earlier shut for not meeting the deadline for re-validation and registration of facilities issued by the state Ministry of Health since January.
He listed the affected health facilities as Soffy’s Medical Center, Conner Stone Hospital, Omobalogun Clinic, Nosirullah Medical Clinic and Maternity Home, Olubusola Maternity Home, Ridiom Clinic and Maternity Home, and Eriayo Maternity Home.
