The 48.7-kilometer road which was awarded to Ela Engineering and Constructed Nigeria Ltd in August 2022 is expected to be completed in one year.
Speaking to journalists in a telephone conversation on Saturday, the General Manager of the company, Mr Yusuf Isiaka, said the road would be upgraded from earlier surface dressing to nylon asphalt level.
He explained that the road, when completed, would go a long way in reducing the transportation problem being faced by farmers in the area.
Our correspondent, however, reports that the road was constructed by a former governor of the state, late Aliyu Akwe Doma and since then has been in deplorable condition, paving way for bandits and kidnappers to operate.
