Gov’t converts sick bay to isolation centre

The Kaduna State government has converted the sick bay of the College of Nursing and Midwifery, Kafanchan to a temporary isolation centre for corona virus patients.

The 30-bed capacity temporary Covid-19 isolation facility in Kafanchan would serve the entire southern Kaduna area until the permanent site proposed at the Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Memorial Hospital, Kafanchan, is built.

Speaking while conducting the Jema’a Local Government chairman, Peter Danjuma Averik, round the new facility on Thursday, the Medical Director, Dr Samuel Kure, said the isolation Centre has already admitted two coronavirus patients from Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of the state.

Dr Kure, further explained that the isolation facility would only diagnose and manage Covid-19 patients while the test would still be conducted at the testing centre in Kaduna.
