The governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, has imposed 24-hour curfew in Karim town and its environs following violent attacks launched by suspected militia in some villages in Karim Lamido Local Government Area.
Press Secretary to the governor, Yusuf Sanda, in a statement issued on Sunday, said the curfew followed renewed communal conflicts in some parts of Karim Lamido LGA of the state.
He said security agencies had been mandated to ensure strict compliance and any person or group of persons found violating the order would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
The statement directed all ward heads, village heads, traditional rulers, and stakeholders in Karim Lamido Local Government Area to take note of the curfew imposed by the state government.

Daily Trust reports that violent crisis erupted in the area following presentation of staff of office to a new Chief of Wurkum by the former governor, Darius Ishaku in May this year.
