Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU), has said government is insensitive to the plight of the colleges.

It said most state governments have absconded from their responsibilities in meeting staff monthly enrolments.

The president of the union, Emmanuel Asagha, while speaking to journalists in Abuja said  most lecturers received about 50 per cent of their monthly salaries.

 He said, “We will not tolerate any attempt to rubbish or stop full payment of our salaries irrespective of shortfalls.”

Asagha said while some states had not paid the salary arrears of its members for months other states had introduced alien conditions of service.
