The Chairman of the Niger State Chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Yakubu Garba, has said that the state government owe pensioners in the state over N50 billion gratuity.
He made this known at a special prayer session organised by the striking primary school teachers over the percentage salary payment by the government.

He said the pensioners that are entitled to gratuity amounting to the tune of over N50bn have the right to go to court to seek redress, saying, they shelved such action in view of the consequences on the state.
He warned the government against implementing its planned “No work, no pay” policy, noting that the union would not hesitate to implement all sections of the labour laws to get their demands met.
