Gov’t pulls down 100 illegal structures
The Plateau State Government says tertiary institutions will now resume on January 18 as against the January 4 date earlier announced.

The Sokoto Urban and Regional Planning Board has demolished over 100 illegal structures in the state.
The special adviser to Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal in charge of the agency, Sidi Aliyu Lamido, disclosed this in an interview with Daily Trust.
According to Lamido, the affected places are structures erected without approval or those that violated other laws of the state.
He said others were those constructed on waterways or within the premises of public schools.
He said the board would not allow distortion of the original master plan of the state by developers.
He warned developers to be wary of scammers who issue temporary approval, saying, “We don’t give temporary approval.”
