Abia government relaxes curfew in Aba, Umuahia

The Abia State Government has relaxed the curfew in some parts of the state from 8 pm- 6 am to 10 pm-6 am, with effect from June 18.

The government said it made the relaxation as a result of the noticeable improvement in security in the state.

According to the statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, Aba and Umuahia municipalities would now observe curfew from 10pm-6am while Ohafia, Bende, Umunneochi and Arochukwu Local Government Areas of the state, would observe theirs from 8 pm -6 am.

He advised citizens and residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious movements to security agents and ensure full compliance with the new curfew regimes.
